While a travel trailer will provide you with everything you need to live comfortably while out on the open road or camping out at a local spot, there are several ways you can improve your overall RVing experience. For a list of simple upgrades you can make to your travel trailer to improve your next trip, check out our article below.

Batteries

If you haven’t already installed a set of lithium batteries in your travel trailer, we recommend doing so as soon as possible! While a little pricer than your standard set of travel trailer batteries, lithium models are higher-powered, longer-lasting, and easier to maintain. They’re also quite a bit lighter than a standard set of travel trailer batteries, moderately reducing the wear and tear on your vehicle and your gas expenses.

Brakes

If you have a rather large travel trailer or often drive in hilly areas with sharp inclines, it’s wise to invest in a set of disc brakes for your RV. While your standard drum brakes are fine for flat roads and even pavement, we strongly recommend upgrading to a set of more powerful disc brakes if you plan on traversing any tricky terrain.

Hitch Lock

To ensure your travel trailer never goes anywhere without you, we recommend investing in a handy hitch lock for your model. This will make accidental decoupling nearly impossible, and help deter thieves who may be considering trying to take off with your model. While there are a number of different hitch locks to invest in, pink locks are often the easiest to install and typically the most affordable.
